Noticeboard - Secondary School Transition

From 2015 Year 7 students will complete their studies at high school sites across Western Australia.

The local high school forward enrolment packages to primary schools in Term 3 for distribution to students. Completed applciation forms can be returned to the primary schools and will be collected by the high school. Application to enrol must be completed prior to the transition days in Term 4. Students not enrolled to attend the following year are not permitted to participate in the transition day.

Year 6 - 2018

Year 6 students in 2017 will graduate from primary school in December 2017 and commence high school as Year 7 students in 2018. The local high school is Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School.

A transiiton program will be set by the high school and usually includes

  • Enrolment forms dropped off at primary schools - Term 3
  • A visit by the teachers and a school leader to local primary schools - TBA November
  • A parent information night at the high school - TBA November
  • A Transition Club which will operate during Clubs in Term 4
  • GFA (Football Academy) transition day for indigenous boys - Thursday 30th November
  • GFA breakfast - Monday 6th and 13th November 2017
  • GFA Football game - Thursday 26th October.
  • KGA (Kalgoorlie Girls Academy) Basketball visit - TBA
  • A transition Day at the high school for all enrolled children - Monday 11th December
  • Early transition activities for identified students - throughout Term 4
